Help & FAQ

Everything you need to get the most out of GarageLog.

Getting Started

1 — Create your account

Register with your email address and choose a password. You'll receive a verification email — click the link inside to activate your account before logging in.

2 — Add your first car

Go to My Garage and hit Add Car. Enter the year, make, model, and current mileage. Everything else is optional — you can fill it in over time.

3 — Start logging

From your car's detail page you can add service records, fuel entries, modifications, and parts. The dashboard gives you a live summary of everything across all your cars.

My Garage

Navigate to My Garage from the top navigation, then click the Add Car button. Fill in at minimum the year, make, model, and current odometer reading. You can add purchase price, VIN, colour, and a photo at any time from the car's edit page.

Yes — there's no limit. Add as many vehicles as you like. Each car has its own service history, fuel log, modifications, and parts list. The dashboard rolls everything up across all cars at once.

If you enter a licence/registration expiry date on a car, GarageLog will show a warning badge in the navbar when the date is approaching or has passed. You can set the expiry date on any car's edit page.

Service Logs

Anything maintenance-related: oil changes, tyre rotations, brake jobs, timing belt replacements, fluid flushes, inspections, and repairs. If it's keeping the car running, it's a service. Upgrades and performance parts belong under Modifications.

Yes. When adding or editing a service, you can link parts from your inventory to that job. This automatically reduces stock levels and keeps a record of what was fitted and when.

You can set a next-service date or mileage on each service record, and GarageLog will surface upcoming services on your dashboard. Full push-notification reminders are on the roadmap.

Modifications

Anything you add, change, or upgrade beyond stock: intakes, exhausts, suspension, body kits, engine work, audio, lighting, wheels — anything that changes the car from how it left the factory.

Yes. Each modification entry has fields for estimated power and torque gains so you can build up a picture of your car's current output versus stock over time.

Yes — each modification supports multiple photos. Upload before and after shots, install progress pictures, or any supporting images directly to the modification record.

Fuel Tracking

Log each fill-up with your odometer reading and the volume of fuel added. GarageLog calculates economy (L/100km or MPG depending on your preference) from the distance driven between fill-ups. It needs at least two entries per car to start showing figures.

For the most accurate fuel economy figures, yes — fill to the same level (ideally full tank) each time. Partial fills will skew the calculation because GarageLog can't know how much was left in the tank.

Yes. Go to Preferences and set your measurement system to Metric or Imperial. GarageLog will display fuel volumes and economy in your preferred units.

Parts Inventory

The parts inventory is your personal stash tracker. Log parts you've bought or have on the shelf — with price, supplier, quantity, and which car they're intended for. When you use a part on a service or modification, it deducts from your stock automatically.

Yes. Parts live in a shared inventory and can be assigned to any of your cars. You can see which parts are installed on which car, which are in storage, and the full assignment history.

Account & Settings

Go to your account Preferences (top-right menu → Preferences). You can set your country, currency, and whether you prefer metric or imperial units. Changes apply immediately across the whole app.

Click the palette icon () in the top navigation bar and choose between Retro JDM, Light, or Dark. Your choice is saved to your account and will follow you across devices.

On the login page, click Forgot your password? and enter your account email address. You'll receive a reset link valid for one hour. If you don't see the email, check your spam folder.

Check your spam or junk folder first — the email comes from garagelog@tougetechnologies.com. If it's not there, go to the resend verification page and request a new link.
